George Toriello took an interest in this name because of the great sacrifice the families suffered during World War II in Hackensack.
George Toriello found that William Wisniewski “may” be the brother of Paul Wisiewski because of the 1930 census which shows parents Anthony and Agatha living on 33 Schmultz Place, Hackensack and the 1940 census shows family moved to 13 Henry Place in Hackensack. Also, having five children, one being named Paul and another William, but no way to confirm fully at this time if they are brothers, but it appears to be so.
I do not know, but William Wisniewski may be also related to two more people named
Francis L. Wisniewski and Raymond P. Wisniewski, who are located on the
Supreme Sacrifice plaque at Hackensack’s City Hall, but I have no way of knowing for certain at the present time.
According to enlistment records, William Anthony Wisniewski enlisted in the war and was born on April 1, 1917 in Union City, NJ. He enlisted in the Army on February 17, 1942 which is along with the newspaper article and was processed at Fort Dix, NJ.
William Wisnieski’s SS security death index says he passed away December 13, 1995 at the age of almost 78.
